BUSC Announces D3 Coaches for 2009-2010

BUSC Press release – March 5th 2009

Ballistic United announces Division 3 coaches for 2009 2010 season

After the most successful Division 3 season ever, Technical Director Andrew Ziemer has again retained most of the staff and pending board approval will soon add several key additions.

The BUSC D3 2008- 2009 season was a huge success both on and off the field. All BUSC teams from U10-U19 adopted a share Philosophy and Vision about soccer and played a common system and style of play.

The BUSC played in the 1:3:4:3 and 1:4:3:3 system and emphasized attacking, creative, possession soccer  and high pressure defense.  With a clear age specific objectives for each age group, the emphasis is on individual player development.

Andrew Ziemer states,  The staff from 2008-2009 were the most committed group of coaches that I have ever worked with.  All of the returning and new coaches are ready to bring the BUSC Division 3 program to the next level. I am super excited and privileged to work with such an ambitious coaching staff. The online registration numbers are already off the chart and we are 25/30 days from the first placement. The word is out. The BUSC D3 program is on the rise.

BUSC D3 teams are divided into Black teams (1st teams) and White teams (2nd teams). In the 2008 2009 season the Black teams won 4 League Championships and 2 second place finishes. The White teams also had a lot of success in both results with most teams finishing 2nd or 3rd place, but also in player development.  We anticipate many White team players making the jump to Black teams for the 2009 2010 season.

Parent Letter

Dear Ballistic U8 Parent,

I’m pleased to announce a new program specifically designed for the under 8 player that Ballistic United is offering this year.  Our U8 Academy program (birth dates - August 2001-July 2002) is set to kickoff in early August.  The U8 Academy will be under the guidance and leadership of Andrew Ziemer, Technical Director of our Division III program and Tony Chavarria, Technical Director of our Division IV program.

“Our goal is to provide the highest quality development program for the most motivated and committed U8 Division IV boys within the Ballistic United Soccer Club.”

Program objectives include:

  • Create a “soccer contagious environment” which is FUN but teaches proper training habits.
  • Provide the highest level curriculum to develop “technically gifted” players.  The main focus will be on individual players and SKILLS.
  • Educate players on what it takes to become successful on the field.

Program highlights include:

  • Players remain with their Division 4 Teams but receive additional training through the Academy program.
  • 20 one hour Training Sessions with professional coaches / trainers
  • 4 “in-house” small sided play days designed to maximize individual touches on the ball.
  • Possible option to participate in the U10 Ballistic Jamboree
  • Low cost - $175.00 dollars per player

Andrew personally asked me to pass on that “if your son loves soccer, please have him join us for a FREE clinic.”  After the clinic Andrew will talk to you about the BUSC Vision on Youth Development as well as answer any questions you have about this new and exciting program.

The free clinic takes place at the Aquatic Park, 4301 Black Avenue on July 1st, 5:00 pm.  The parent talk with Andrew will immediately follow the clinic.

You can register your players for the U8 Academy program now at www.busc.org or wait until after the clinic to make your decision.  Please review the attached flyer and visit www.busc.org for additional information.

Yours in Soccer,

BUSC Parents: SIDELINE BEHAVIOR UPDATE
To BUSC Division 4 (Recreational) U9 and U10 Parents

BUSC is completely dependent upon parent volunteers to support youth soccer in Pleasanton. While every volunteer is important in supporting your son's soccer season, two roles are absolutely critical. Parent coaches and referee volunteers are absolutely the most critical volunteer position we must staff for the U9/U10 program. Volunteers are what make our soccer programs possible. I encourage you all to participate at whatever level you can and to step up where needed to ensure all of our youth have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful game.

Many Thanks, Gordon Zagar.

BUSC Has “Club History” WEB PAGE

BUSC has a very long and proud history.  You will be surprised how deep the Club's roots go.  Built by hundreds of dedicated individuals, who have spent thousands of volunteer hours managing the club, training soccer players and otherwise making sure that boys in the Tri-Valley area have a place to play quality soccer, BUSC has become synonymous with soccer of the highest quality.

Three generations of individuals have now played, coached or have been involved with Ballistic United Soccer Club programs.  In  preparation of the club's 40th anniversary, BUSC has started to assemble a Club History page.

Please take a look at the various articles by clicking here.
