The Ballistic United U12 Premier boys soccer team won the Blue Division State Cup on December 20 by beating San Ramon Azuri 4-1 in a final played at Alden Oliver Sports Park in Hayward. Trevor Cheng opened the scoring midway through the first half when he made a run to the back post and headed in a cross from Noah White on an indirect free kick from just inside the penalty area. Cheng increased the lead to 2-0 in the final minute before half time when he put away his second goal. Ballistic United increased its advantage to 3-0 early in the second half when Arnav Patel headed home a corner from White. Adrian Denoncourt then assisted White on a scoring blast from outside the penalty area to close the scoring for Ballistic United, which was able to coast to the title from there.

In the semifinal game, Ian Lee scored twice in a five-goal, first half scoring barrage against Dublin United Legend on December 14. Ballistic United took its foot off the gas after halftime, and cruised to an easy 6-0 victory. Jacob Lambro tallied the only second half goal of the game.

Ballistic United won their quarterfinal in compelling fashion, 2-1 over Mustang Tornadoes, in double overtime on a golden goal by Cheng. The ball popped loose after a scramble in the penalty box, and he put in the back of the net. White opened the scoring early in the second half by putting home a through ball from Denoncourt before Mustang knotted things up with just four minutes left in regulation.

Congrats, boys!
