A bit of BUSC history was made the weekend of July 17-19 at the U.S. Futsal National Championship held in the Anaheim Convention Center. Teams from as far away as Australia, Hawaii, and Long Island all vied for top honors. Three of our six entries played in finals. Our u8 and u9 BUFC teams were crowned national champions by beating the Gilroy Eagles and the San Jose Earthquakes Academy respectively, while our u14 Academy team lost to the LA Galaxy Academy 5-3 in a taut, fiercely contested game. 2015-06-30T12:16:41+00:00

Members of the U14P team recently won the Palo Alto Summer Solstice 2015 Futsal tournament. Coach Rob and Coach Akbar were very impressed with the players ability to manage the games and their opponents using Futsal strategies and set plays. They won the Championship game in OT 5-3 with no subs against the host team under hostile circumstances. It was a GREAT learning experience as the players prepare to play in the National Futsal tournament in July.

Travian Sousa – Being Called for the Upcoming Youth National Team Futures Camp

2016-10-21T11:41:38+00:00

Sousa 2015Our club is proud to announce that one of our U14 US Academy players, Travian Sousa, is being called for the upcoming Youth National Team Futures Camp in Carson, Calif., from May 23-26, 2015.

The YNT Futures Camp will be led by U.S. Soccer Director of Scouting Tony Lepore, U-14 Boys’ National Team head coach Brian Johnson, U-15 Boys’ National Team head coach John Hackworth and all of U.S. Soccer’s Technical Advisors.

The aim of the YNT Futures Camp is to select the most talented players in the ’00 and ’01 birth year who also happen to be on a later physical development growth path, with the hope to eliminate the relative age effect on talent identification.  Over the long-term, the goal for this program to help US Soccer more easily showcase the technical and tactical skills that every National Team player must possess, especially when compared to physical maturity that in many cases is predicated by birth month. When scouting and evaluating players amongst the same age group, we tend to see big differences in performance based on birth month and maturity.

We are sure this camp will be a great experience and personal development opportunity for Travian!

FIRST BUSC U14 ACADEMY FUNDRAISING CAMP A SUCCESS

2015-05-07T22:37:32+00:00

Last week, 22 Ballistic players attended a camp to help the U14 Academy players raise money for the US Soccer Showcase in Indianapolis this June.

Under the guidance of coaches Luciano Estrada and Andrew Ziemer, 8-10 Academy players worked with the kids and passed on their knowledge. The younger campers looked up to the players and now want to come see them play.

“Luciano and I were very impressed with their professionalism and energy. Last year, some of the players did not attend the Showcase in which all the US Soccer scouts are present to scout for the National Team. This year we made a commitment that the team would work together to insure that no player did not travel to Indianapolis due to the cost, which is about $1350 per player ” said Coach Ziemer.

Please come join us in the June camp which will be the 3 days before the team departs to the Showcase. All coaches volunteer their time and 100% of the money goes towards the travel costs. Please follow this link to register ~ https://korrio.com/groups/ballistic-united-soccer-club/programs/start-registration/ ~ select Summer 3 Day Camp
