I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! At BUSC, we have a lot to be thankful for
such as a fabulous and supportive membership, wonderful volunteers, a great coaching staff,
strong board leadership, and 50-year history to celebrate. We appreciate our members’
support during the tough past few weeks with all of the training, league game, and Cup game
cancellations. Please thank your team managers,’ as they have all had to put in countless hours
rescheduling games with our opponents. Let’s also keep the disruption of training and games in perspective. We
might not be able to train and compete, but many families lost everything they own and are devastated and
desperate for help! During the past couple weeks and again today the club circulated an email asking for financial support for the soccer families”who lost EVERYTHING in the recent fires in Paradise. Thanks to those who are stepping up and
donating to these families and also to those who offered to lead the efforts to send support to our fellow soccer families.
In October, BUSC & Rage held our 4th annual Orange & Gold Gala at Barone’s. Each year has successfully built
upon the prior year with over 300 members enjoying a fun social night out at Barone’s. This year we held a raffle
where a lucky member could chose between a Hyundai Sante Fe or $20,000 in cash! We are excited to announce
that one of our own BUSC members won the car and chose the cash. This event is important to both clubs. BUSC
uses the proceeds to help grow our programs and give back to the community, having used some of the
proceeds to help subsidize our U5/U6 Recreational age groups (lowering registration fees), increasing overall club
financial aid for all ages and levels of play, and donating to our club charity partner. A large portion of the
proceeds goes to our charity partner, Open Heart Kitchen. This charity helps provide bag lunches to PUSD for kids
in need of a healthy lunch every day!
Club Events in December & January
While our high school age players take a club break for high school soccer
during Mid November thru mid February, our younger age groups U8-15, after a holiday break, will continue to
train or join our winter academy or winter futsal programs during Jan thru February.
Club Division Update
US Soccer Academy: The U15 & U17 DA teams are traveling to their US Soccer Showcase event in December.
Located in Florida, all 85+ USSDA clubs attend this event. The event showcases players to college coaches,
exposes them to scouting by US National youth team coaches, and provides coaching education opportunities to
our staff. The U13 & U14 teams traveled to San Diego for their regional event in November. The U12 DA group
begins training futsal to compete in their local Futsal event in January.
Competitive: ALL teams wrap up their fall seasons during November thru December depending on the age and
level of play. After a well-deserved holiday break, players will resume training with their teams or joining our
winter academy or futsal program in Jan and Feb.
Recreational: Another successful season wrapped up with the last regular season game being played in early
November. The all-star games for the younger age groups were a big hit as we consolidated the games into one
day and one location, which created a great atmosphere.
Futsal: Teams are forming and will train 2x per week and compete in the San Ramon futsal league during
December thru February. In March selected teams will compete in the prestigious US Futsal Regional event in San
Jose. Teams that advance out of the regionals will continue training for the July Nationals in San Jose.
Adult Co-ed (PASS): Our clubs adult co-ed league wraps up their fall season in early December. The PASS league consists of
a fall and spring league, has 18-20 teams, and competes on Sundays. Approximately 400 adults compete
As always, please reach out to the club if you have any questions or concerns!
