Boosted by their strong weekend of play in the MLS Next Fest, the BUSC teams returned home for four games, posting a 3-1 mark.
On Friday, December 10, the Under-13 and Under-14 teams – groups that were not at the Fest, but were obviously inspired by the efforts from the older teams, posted a pair of wins.
The U-13 team knocked of the Sheriffs by a 5-0 final. Gerardo Macias scored three times with Brayden Laidlaw and Sam Shi getting single goals. The U-14 got goals from Xavi Cisneros and Landon Yamashita in a 2-1 win over the Sheriffs.
On Saturday, Dec. 11, Ballistic split a pair of games with Silicon Valley SC. In the U-16 game Colin Davis and Kenji Begossi each had a goal and SVSC had an own goal for the 3-0 final. The lone loss of the weekend was a 3-1 SVSC win in the U-19 game. Ethan Cotton scored the goal with Saul Tecle getting the assist.
