The Ballistic U-17 MLS Next team battled back after falling behind to get a 1-1 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps Friday in the MLS Next play-in tournament in Lathrop.
The Whitecaps took a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the game when they were awarded a penalty kick that they converted. Ballistic fought back and drew even just before the half when Sam Fomin converted a pass from Arteen Arianmanesh, who was playing up an age group.
Next up for the locals is a 4 p.m. game today against De Anza. De Anza and Sacramento Republic tied 1-1 as well Friday night, leaving the tournament wide open with the two games left!
