Pit two of the top youth soccer clubs in Northern California against each other and you can expect the games to be hard fought and tight.
That is exactly what happened as Ballistic United and the De Anza Force fought to draws in four of the five games on Saturday, Nov. 20 in MLS Next action.
The Under-15 3-3 final was the most exciting of the day. Down 3-2, short a player due to a sendoff, and facing under three minutes left in the game, Ballistic gambled.
After being awarded a corner kick, goalie David Ruy was pushed forward into the penalty area and the risk paid off as Ruy scored the equalizer.
Avi Vinod scored the other two goals for BUSC.
In the Under-16 match Kenji Begosi and Arteen Arianmanesh each scored in the 2-2 final.
The Under-17 contest ended 1-1 with Braian Garcia Ruiz getting the goal.
In the under-19 game, Ballistic got great goalie play from Jorge Villasenor and Ryan Aiken in a 0-0 final.
The lone loss of the day came in the Under-13 game where Ballistic fell 2-0.
