The Ballistic United MLS Next teams battled strongly against the teams from the Portland Timbers Academy teams on Sunday, October 3.
The best game of the weekend came in the Under-17 team match at the Val Vista complex.
Portland came into the game fresh off a 5-0 shellacking of a strong Sac Republic team on Saturday.
Sunday Ballistic jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes but suffered a setback early in the game when they lost a player to a red card, leaving the team a man down for the final 70 minutes of the game.
They battled throughout but Portland got a late goal to pull out the 4-3 win.
Braian Garcia Sanchez, Ilya Alekseev, and Colin Davis got the goals for Ballistic. Davis, Ali Elmasnaouy, and Akash Poola all had assists.
Poola and David Peregrina split time in the goal for BUSC.
The Under-15 game saw Ballistic battle to a 0-0 tie at the half before Portland outscored the local boys 4-1 in the second half. Miles Taylor had the lone goal for BUSC off an assist from Sam Sha.
Finally in the U-19 game, the two teams were tied 1-1 at the half before Portland pulled away in the second half and got the 3-1 win.
Saul Tecle got the goal and Ethan Kerrigan the assist. Jorge Villasenor and Ryan Aiken split time in the goal.
Next up for Ballistic is a huge soccer day against the Silicon Valley SA in Palo Alto on Saturday, October 9, with six BUSC teams taking on the South Bay boys.
The schedule is as follows: U-19, 9 a.m. U-17, 11 a.m. U-16, 1 p.m. U-15, 3 p.m. U-14, 5 p.m. U-13, 7 p.m.
