Ballistic United MLS NEXT teams got off to mixed results on the first day of the MLS NEXT Flex playoffs, Friday in Maryland.
The U-16 squad came out on top in their match, while the U-19 team fell short in their opener.
In the U-16 game goals from Alex Fierros, Walker Blake, and Nico Colmenares put the team up 3-1 against Shattuck from Minnesota, but they lost a player to a red card, forcing the team to play the second half with just 10 players.
Shattuck eventually drew even 3-3 and forced the game to penalty kicks.
Eddie Siladie, Blake, and Christopher Rodriguez all made their PK’s and goalie David Peregrina made three saves to give Ballistic the win.
The U-19n dropped a 2-0 final to the Indiana Fire Academy team.
